Do you remember your favorite book from childhood?

Growing up, there were a lot of books that I read. Yet, there was one book that stood out above the rest. It was a book titled “Miss Suzy” which was written by Miriam Young. I remember the first time I read it, I was completely entranced by the story. It had everything you want in a book; adventure, friendship, and a cozy little home in the trees.

The story was about a little gray squirrel named Miss Suzy. She lived in a cozy little tree house that she had made out of an old dollhouse. She was happy in her little home. But, she had to leave it. A group of red squirrels invaded her tree and took it over. Miss Suzy was forced to find a new home and make new friends along the way.

One of the things I loved about “Miss Suzy” was the sense of adventure in the story. Miss Suzy was always exploring and trying new things. She was never afraid to take risks and try something new. This sense of adventure was contagious, and it made me want to explore and try new things as well.

Another thing that stood out to me was the friendship between Miss Suzy and her new friends. They were all so different, but they all worked together to help each other out. This taught the value of friendship. It showed how important it is to have people in your life that support you.

Finally, there was Miss Suzy’s cozy little tree house. This was probably my favorite part of the whole book. I loved the idea of living in a little house in the trees. It was like having a secret hideaway all to yourself. I remember spending hours imagining what it would be like to live in a tiny house like Miss Suzy’s.

“Miss Suzy” will always hold a special place in my heart. It was a book that taught me about adventure, friendship, and the joy of having a cozy little home. It was also the book that sparked my love for tiny houses.

Whenever I see a tiny house now, I think of Miss Suzy and her little tree house. It’s amazing that a book can impact someone’s life so deeply. “Miss Suzy” is one I will never forget.

  1. Isn’t it wonderful to remember our most loved books from when we small? I don’t think I ever read Miss Suzy myself. My favorite was Follow My Leader about a blind boy and his guide dog. It was probably my first introduction to anyone with disabilities. I probably got that book from Weekly Reader. 😊
