Early in the morning its amazing how many birds are up and awake. By the time the sun finally comes up the sounds quiet down some as they are all off searching for food, mates, and all the other things birds do during the day.
Most of the times I only hear the birds since some do not frequent our bird feeders. I’ve found an awesome little phone application that helps to identify those birds that can’t be seen.

The Merlin Bird ID app, developed by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, harnesses the power of machine learning to help users identify bird species. Leveraging a vast database of bird photos and recordings, the app employs advanced algorithms to analyze user-submitted images or bird songs, providing accurate identifications within seconds. This technology continuously improves as more data is fed into the system, making it an increasingly reliable tool for bird enthusiasts and researchers alike. By combining ease of use with cutting-edge machine learning, Merlin Bird ID makes bird-watching accessible and informative for everyone.

If you are into bird-watching or just listening like me check out this little phone application. I discovered a lot of birds and now I can identify them if I see them too! Merlin has a lot of other options to use for bird identification too.

I love this app! Since we’re traveling around the country and are seeing some birds we are not familiar with, this app has been really helpful.
Same here!
