Carolina Jessamine: The Resilient Yellow Vine

Pretty yellow flowers grow on a small, thin, dark green vine. This vine can take over any plant, tree, or shed if left alone for a long enough period of time. The edge of the woods near our house used to be covered in these vines. That changed when the local electric company arrived. They…

Terrarium: The old fence line

A quick terrarium for two plants, creeping fig and strawberry begonia, sourced from the Biltmore Estate nursery in 2014. The jar, initially intended for coffee storage, was modified with a black lid. Currently, the moss is struggling due to drought but is expected to recover with humidity.

Coyote Bush – Flower of the Day

Baccharis halimifolia Common Name(s): I found this interesting bush/flower at the edge of the forest next to our home.
