Last week while I was on vacation the weather was so hot that I decided it was best to stay indoors. With temperatures around 100°F / 37.78 °C every day and very high humidity we did not get outdoors until very late or very early in the day. I’ve had two heat-related incidents and do not want to relive those experiences. The family never forgets “Remember that time you passed out in Waffle House and your face landed in your breakfast?” “Remember that time we went camping and it turned out to be one of the hottest weekends of the year??”

So this time I spent a little time in the kitchen cooking up a tasty roasted tomato sauce using fresh tomatoes from our garden.
