What does “having it all” mean to you? Is it attainable?

In today’s world, it can feel almost unnatural to discuss achieving everything. This applies to our financial and lifestyle choices. We are constantly working hard to reach our goals. We are continually striving to fit everything in our respective lives. We try hard as individuals. We often feel like we can never quite achieve our version of ‘having it all’.

But, what if I said it is actually entirely possible to have it all? I have found a way of living. This allows me to have a sense of freedom, joy, and contentment in my life. That I found a way to have it all? That I am living my version of a life that has it all? What if I can only escape the stress of work briefly? What if it’s only during these moments that I ‘have it all’?

For me, having it all is about low stress and living better, not necessarily having the most money. Money certainly helps, but it isn’t necessarily the key to having it all. It is really about having a perspective of gratitude for what I have. It’s about creating a life that works for me and others.

I try not to stress about having enough money. I have a plan in place to handle any emergency expenses. I have managed to re-frame my thoughts. I have released the fear and burden of worrying about money. I have also let go of the feeling of not having enough. Sometimes we just need to disconnect and take care of our own well-being.

Having it all means having the freedom to create the life I want to live. It means I control the path that my life takes. I have enough energy and time to follow my passions. I do the things I find most fulfilling. It also means I make time for some rest and relaxation, giving me permission to pause and connect with myself.

For me, this means spending time in my little canvas tent on my property. It is a place where I can escape from the noise. I can reconnect with nature there. Even if my little escape is only for a few hours, overnight, or a long weekend it does wonders. Relax by taking a moment to chop some wood. Build a fire or tie some knots. Watch the deer move through the forest. Or just take a nap in a hammock.

It’s about aligning with what truly matters to me. This alignment allows me to be the best version of myself. It’s not about having the latest in lifestyle, fashion, gadgets, or cars. Rather, it’s about having a genuine sense of balance, joy, and contentment.
