Colorful Zinnias: A Native Beauty of Central America and Mexico

Zinnia

Zinnias are native to Central America and Mexico. Known by the Aztecs as “plants that are hard on the eyes” because of their colorful flowers. Every year I have some zinnias that come up from seeds that I left in the flowerbeds. I also collect the seeds so that I can disperse them in various spots around our home. They bloom all summer and are very drought-tolerant.
