Homemade Bit-O-Honey Candy Recipe

🍯 A Sweet Slice of Candy History: Bit-O-Honey

Bit-O-Honey has been delighting candy lovers since 1924, when it was first introduced by the Schutter-Johnson Company in Chicago. Chocolate bars dominated the market at that time. However, Bit-O-Honey stood out with its chewy honey-flavored taffy. It was studded with bits of real almonds, offering a unique texture and flavor.

It was originally sold as a segmented bar wrapped in wax paper. It quickly became a nostalgic favorite. It is known for its long-lasting chew and subtle sweetness. Over the decades, the brand changed hands several times. It went from Nestlé to Pearson’s Candy Company. Spangler Candy now produces it today.
