Herb Barbecue Sauce

West Coast Cook Book - barbecue sauce recipe passed down from early west coast settlers. This is said to be a very old California recipe. It is not hot, in fact it has not a bit of pepper in it, so have no fear.

Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • ¼ cup chopped onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 tablespoon minced rosemary
  • ¼ cup minced mint leaves
  • ½ cup oil or butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Method
 

  1. Cook together ½ cup of vinegar, a cup of water, ¼ cup of chopped onion, 3 cloves minced garlic, a tablespoon of minced rosemary, ¼ cup of minced mint leaves, ½ cup of oil or butter, and a teaspoon of salt.
  2. Simmer 10 minutes, strain, and use.

Notes

Pepper steak or whatever you're grilling just before serving.
