
Actias luna – one of the largest moths in North America with a wingspan up to 7 inches. With a very short lifespan of only a week or so its always exciting to encounter these moths. This moth looks to be a male which can be distinguished by its feathery antennae. He uses the antennae to detect the pheromones of female Luna moths.
