La Peppermint Camellia
It is February and just the right time of the year for the camellia shrub to begin opening its blooms! Both of these blooms which are quite different from each other are on the same shrub. Last year I marked the branches which had the solid red blooms. I wanted to see if those branches would produce solid red blooms again this year. No evidence yet, but several of the marked limbs do have blooms on them that haven’t opened yet. My hope is that they will and this summer after blooming has stopped I want to try to propagate some of those cuttings for additional shrubs.
