Double Tahiti Daffodil: A Nostalgic Irish Beauty

Daffodil Double Tahiti – country of origin Ireland

Several years ago my aunt had a long row of these Daffodil planted next to her home. She said that they were called “Butter and Eggs”, and that she got them from the old homestead where she and my mom grew up. I looked for a similar daffodil but when searching by the common name I did not find them. Later on, I found that they were probably the double Tahiti daffodil. I still love them and do miss seeing them all in bloom against the side of my aunt’s home. Maybe one day in the spring I’ll take a trip and see if they are still in bloom…I wonder if the new owners of the home know how special they were to someone.
